EXPLORING MUSIC WITH HIFI FARMS COMMUNITY OFFICER LEE HENDERSON
“Entertain” by Sleater-Kinney
One of my favorite things to do while high is to play drums along to records using high end headphones. This song is especially cathartic to play along with (not that I am anywhere near the level of skill Janet Weiss is).
“It’s Alright, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)” by Bob Dylan
Probably my single favorite song of all time. Its lyrics have guided me as a human being since I first heard it when I was 15.
“California Stars” by Wilco
For my wife, Sarah. This was our wedding song.
“Idiot’s Rule” by Jane’s Addiction
Another song whose lyrics have help guide me through life. I even have a couplet from this song tattooed on my arm:
“You know the man you hate? You look more like him everyday!
Hi-di-hoa! Two good shoes won’t save your soul!”
A little reminder to myself.
“Passing Afternoon” by Iron & Wine
Easily another one of my all-time favorite songs. It’s imagery is evocative to me of my childhood, growing up in Roswell, GA in the early 1980s. Sam Beam’s songwriting just kills me.
